Céad Míle Fáilte!

Ancient Order of Hibernians

Our AOH Fr. Ryan Division 1, continues the legacy by fostering community and charity in Williamson County.

Our Rich History and Founding Principles

The Ancient Order of Hibernians, established in 1836, is the oldest Irish Catholic fraternal organization in the United States. Founded in the coal-mining regions of Pennsylvania and New York, the AOH was created to protect the welfare of Irish immigrants and preserve their cultural heritage. Our division, named after Father Abram J. Ryan, continues this legacy by fostering community and promoting the values of friendship, unity, and Christian charity.

Rooted in the classical Latin name for Ireland, ‘Hibernia,’ the AOH is dedicated to celebrating all things Irish. Our division, chartered in 2024, is committed to sharing the rich history of Irish culture and the profound impact of Irish traditions on American society. We strive to uphold the founding principles of the AOH, ensuring that the spirit of Ireland thrives in every community we touch.
